RSA 0′ 0″ (0cm) HeightWimpie Botha was tragically killed in a car accident after the third round of the Vodacom Tour's Lombard Tyres Classic at the Krugersdorp Golf Club on Friday April 16th 1999. 'This has come as a great shock to the players and management of the Vodacom Tour,' said Louis Martin, the Chief Executive Officer of the Southern Africa Tour. 'He was one of the friendliest and most popular of the players on the tour. 'For me, his death is a great personal loss as I knew him well from his amateur days. 'We send our heartfelt sympathies to Wimpie's parents and other family.'
