Meet Roberto
0′ 0″ (0cm) HeightRoberto turned pro at the age of 16 and played most of his early golf at the Acquasanta club in Rome. During a successful career he has won a large number of events including the BP Open in 1968 and 1969, the Garlenda Open in 1969, the Swiss Open in 1968 and 1969 as well as a number of Italian PGA titles. He also represented his country in no less than nine World Cups between 1966 and 1975. Roberto turned 50 in 1994 and was a regular competitor on the European Seniors Tour until 1998 with his best finish coming at the 1996 Hippo Jersey Open where he finished tied for second behind Maurice Bembridge. He did not play at all in 1999 or 2000 but returned last season and finished 52nd on the Order of Merit. His best performance of the 2001 season came when he finished sixth at the STC Scandinavian International in Sweden. Roberto's two brothers are both professionals and his son Marco is a member of The European Tour.
