Came through all three stages of the 2012 Qualifying School and risked missing the birth of his first child to earn a rookie season on The European Tour in 2013. The baby was due on the day of the fifth round of the Final Stage, but fortunately it was late, allowing him to return home in time for the birth, having agreed with his wife that he would remain at PGA Catalunya Resort no matter what happened. Finished tied 11th in the Second Stage at Lumine Golf and Beach Club thanks to a final round 67, then took the fifth card at the Final Stage courtesy of rounds of 72, 67, 66, 73, 69 and 70. Started playing when he was seven, when he would help caddie for his father, and had a strong junior career. Had to do national service in the Finnish army between 2004 and 2006, after which he turned professional and started playing on the Nordic League. Idolised fellow Finn Mikko Ilonen throughout his early career. Says he has many hobbies away from the golf course, including fishing and reading.
