Pretoria, South Africa Place of Birth5′ 11″ (182cm) HeightFriends, squash, tennis, movies Interests2003, 04, 06, 07, (08), 09 Qualifying SchoolEnded his five-year drought on the European Challenge Tour with victory at the 2011 Barclays Kenya Open, in the process becoming the third South African to win the event after Trevor Immelman (2000) and Ashley Roestoff (2001). Played on the final day at Muthaiga Golf Club, in Nairobi, with his room-mate André Bossert and cousin Branden Grace, shooting a round of 68 to win by two strokes from his compatriot Tyrone Ferreira. The win continued the good form he had shown in 2010, when he won twice on the Sunshine Tour in South Africa, moved him to the top of the Challenge Tour Rankings and earned him a free business class upgrade courtesy of the event’s Official Airline, Kenya Airways. His interest in the game was originally sparked after he had to cross a golf course on his bike on the way to school in his native Pretoria. Will now be hoping to earn full playing privileges on The European Tour, where his highest previous finish was a tie for eighth place at the South African Open Championship and the Africa Open, both in 2010.
