Eligible for the European Seniors Tour after turning 50 in December 2003, by virtue of his European Tour success in the 1977 Portugese Open at Penina, where a closing 68 helped him edge out Hugh Baiocchi by two shots. Other highlight of that year, where he finished 32nd on the Order of Merit, came when he won a Mercedes for holing in one during the French Open at Le Touquet.
