The European Challenge Tour was at Golf International de Pont Royal for the second staging of the Hopps Open de Provence last week. After four sun-kissed rounds in southern France, Dutchman Lars van Meijel reigned supreme for his inaugural victory on the Road to Mallorca.

Born and raised in a small town in the Cairngorms National Park, he studied at Jacksonville Univ ersity where he was the stable mate of fellow countryman and 2015 WGC-HSBC Champions winner Russell Knox, who he partnered in the 2016 ISPS HANDA World Cup of Golf.
After playing mini-Tours and the PGA EuroPro Tour, he won on the Challenge Tour in 2016 en route to graduating to the European Tour for the 2017 season.
