The injury was to his right shoulder, specifically the rotator cuff. Problems started after the TCL in China and didn’t play a full tournament after the BMW Championship. Claimed his maiden title in the Madeira Island Open in March 2004 having regained his card through the Qualifying School the previous year. That helped him finish 62nd on the Order of Merit, equalling his best ever finishing position which he attained in 1999, his first full season on The European Tour after having graduated from the Challenge Tour in 1998. Attended Arizona State University and continues to live in Scottsdale, Arizona.
