Didn't take it up seriously until 12 and decided at 15 he wanted to become a professional. Influenced by three coaches over the years - Juan Jiménez (brother of Miguel Angel), José Maria Canizares and Diego Morito, coach to the Andalucia golf team. Took four attempts to win European Tour card, eventually succeeding in 1998. Suffered badly from a hand injury which required surgery in 1999. Made the last of his seven starts in 1999 in the Compass Group English Open and was unable to play thereafter. Did not manage to retain card in 2000 and a return to the School paid off with tenth card. Finished 165th on the 2001 Order of Merit but then had a quiet few years until he made an excellent return to the Challenge Tour in 2005 where he won the Peugeot R.C.G. El Prat in Barcelona.
