Returned to The European Tour in style via the 2012 Challenge Tour Rankings, taking third place after an impressively consistent season, but narrowly missed out on retaining his card with a 119th place finish in The 2013 Race to Dubai. Immediately reclaimed his playing privileges for 2014 by taking the 18th card in the Qualifying School Final Stage despite a rollercoaster final round at PGA Catalunya Resort in which he bounced back from a four-putt triple bogey to finish eagle-birdie – describing his approach at the last as a “career-best”. Burst onto the scene in 2010 when his Challenge Tour record read: played four, won two. His first victory came as an amateur in the ECCO Tour Championship, where he was playing under a sponsor’s invitation. Subsequently decided to leave Texas State University in America in order to pursue a career as a professional golfer, and the decision was a shrewd one as he then won the Roma Golf Open presented by REZZA, edging out Joel Sjöholm in a play-off. Took the eighth card at the 2010 Qualifying School Final Stage to graduate to The European Tour less than three months after relinquishing his amateur status. Switched sports from football to golf aged 13 and now his whole family play, including dad, Kaspar, who was on the bag for his victory in Rome. Always carries four white tees, his lucky 100 lira coin and an R&A pitch mark repairer in his pocket during tournaments, and reads crime novels in his spare time to take his mind off golf.
