The Major Champion recorded his 11th European Tour victory at the 2020 Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers - ending a five and a half wait since successfully defending his Open de France title in 2014. The win came less than a year after his last worldwide victory, when he sealed his fourth PGA Tour title at the 2019 Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship.

Famously ended a 40-year wait for a European winner of the U.S. Open by triumphing at Pebble Beach in 2010. Finished a career-high second place in the Race to Dubai the same year and was awarded an MBE in the 2010 New Year’s Honours List.

Has played a key role in four Ryder Cups - taking the winning point at Celtic Manor in 2010 - and became a vice captain for the first time in 2018.

Played in the 2001 Walker Cup during a stellar amateur career and, while studying at the University of Alabama, was awarded the Haskins Award as most outstanding collegiate golfer in the United States.

First picked up a golf club at seven when his dad, Kenny, would take him and his younger brother Gary to the local pitch and putt. Honed his game at the famous Royal Portrush. Won his first European Tour title in just his fourth start, at the 2002 Nordea Masters.
