Following the completion of the Closing Swing - the last of five Global Swings, this week marks the start of the Back 9.

The nine events, which include some of the most historic events on the DP World Tour, provide increased opportunities to earn Race to Dubai Ranking Points as players look to earn qualification into the final two events on the 2024 schedule: The DP World Tour Play-Offs.

The top 70 in the season-long Race to Dubai Rankings at the end of the Back 9 phase of the season will gain qualification into the DP World Tour Play-Offs. Players can qualify throughout the Back 9, as they earn enough points to guarantee their position in the top 70.

The quest to make Luke Donald's European team for the 2025 Ryder Cup also gets under way this week, with six automatic qualification spots available between now and Sunday August 24 next year.

Daniel Hillier claimed his first DP World Tour title at the Betfred British Masters 13 months ago when he produced a fantastic finish, going eagle-birdie-eagle from the 15th before a nerveless par at the 18th, to celebrate a two-shot victory.

Jesper Svensson and Thriston Lawrence, who sit third and fourth respectively on the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex, are among those in action this week at The Belfry, while there are a host home hopes, including recent first-time DP World Tour winner Harry Hall along with Tyrrell Hatton, Danny Willett, Matt Wallace and Donald among the recognisable names teeing it up.

Add in exciting 16-year-old amateur Kris Kim and resurgent fan favourite Andrew 'Beef' Johnston, and the locals should have plenty to cheer about in Sutton Coldfield.
