Has played 16 full seasons on the European Tour, and counting, winning six titles along the way including a win at the 2011 Irish Open and three victories in the KLM Open.

Had a strong amateur record and played in the victorious Great Britain and Ireland side at the 1999 Walker Cup, alongside Paul Casey and Luke Donald among others.

Turned professional in September 1999 and won three times on the Asian Tour in 2000 to top their Order of Merit.
