Holds three passports. Born in Puerto Rico, which enables him to hold US nationality. Both parents are Canadian, so has Canadian nationality. In addition his 14-year residency in Hong Kong has entitled him to a Hong Kong passport! Has adopted US nationality for playing on the European Tour. Between the ages of six and 12 he swam competitively for the Canadian National Team and won approximately 700 gold medals and set four national records. After "getting bored" of swimming at 12, took up golf at Royal Hong Kong GC and reduced his handicap from 24 to scratch within one year. Attended North Western State University.
