Made an early impact in 1999 when he followed a 58th place finish in the season-opening Alfred Dunhill South African PGA Championship with a tie for second in the Mercedes-Benz-Vodacom South African Open. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who lists his hobbies as "jazz, conservative politics and cinema", he has yet to win on the US Tour. Tied for 28th in the 1998 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, and improved on that in 1999 at Carnoustie when with a closing 70 he finished tied 10th. Sister, Page, is a member of the Ladies PGA Tour in the United States.
