Recorded his first victory outside his native Japan in 2018 at the RCB Heritage, in just his 15th start on the PGA TOUR. Came from six strokes behind with a final round 66, going on to defeat Kim Si-Woo in a play-off.

Has won seven times on the Japan Golf Tour.
