The Madrid native's father was on the staff at Puerta de Hierro Golf Club where Luna developed a love for the game.

He turned professional in 1982 and spent over 25 years on the European Tour, ranking inside the top 100 on the Order of Merit on 12 occasions.

Previously held the record for the oldest Qualifying School graduate at the age of 45 years and 355 days.

Wasted no time entering the winner's circle on the Senior Tour as he secured his first title in his first season in 2013. Won his first title for four years in Finland at the inaugural European Tour Properties Senior Classic in 2017.

Lifted his fourth title on the over-50's circuit at the Farmfoods European Senior Masters in 2018.
