Joined Colville Park Golf Club aged 14, and got his handicap down to 14 in his first season - he earned his first national cap at under-16 level the following year. That same year he represented Scotland at the Boys’ Home Internationals and went on to enjoy a successful amateur career, winning international and national titles.

Turned professional in 2012 and knocked back the opportunity to play in the Scottish Open to focus on the Alps Tour, where he secured his maiden professional victory en route to qualifying for the Challenge Tour. Keen football fan who supports Motherwell FC.
