Returned to competitive golf after a break of 12 years at the Qualifying School and duly won his card for the 2010 season. After progressing through the first round at Gramacho he was joint leader after the first round of the Final Stage at Vale da Pinta before finishing 11th. Took that form into the first event of the 2010 season in Mauritius when a final round 70 helped him finish tied ninth on his Senior Tour debut. Spent five years on the European Tour and European Challenge Tour in the early 1990s. Known as one of the Tour's "workaholics", gave up his job as a printer and took the play-for-pay plunge at the age of 32. It was the start of a second career for the Middlesex golfer, who got his introduction to the game at a local driving range as a 15 year old. He went on to win the English Amateur title and gained Walker Cup honours in 1991. Progress was initially slow, but after losing his card in 1994, and his sponsor, he bounced straight back via the 1995 European Challenge Tour, on which he won in Tunisia, to take ninth place. Quit to concentrate of course design then spent four years as Club Professional at Ealing Golf Club before his two children encouraged him to join the Senior Tour.
