Enjoyed a career renaissance in 2021 as he made European Tour history at the Betfred British Masters hosted by Danny Willett, becoming the oldest first-time winner after defeating Guido Migliozzi in a play-off to earn his maiden title, making his 478th appearance at the age of 48 years and 101 days.

Was given the honour of striking the first tee shot at The 149th Open at Royal St. George’s, a few months after his triumph at The Belfry.

Finished a career high 11th on the Race to Dubai Rankings as he recorded eight further top ten finishes in 2021.

In 2019, Bland also became the oldest player to graduate from the Challenge Tour at 46, 18 years after he won the Challenge Tour Grand Final in 2001.

Is a close friend of former Southampton football star Matthew Le Tissier, who in the past has carried the bag for Bland.
