Like many of his compatriots, began his career on the Tour de Las Americas before coming to Europe via the Challenge Tour and ended 2006 in dream fashion by capturing Argentina's National Open Championship.

Three times a runner-up on the European Tour, he won Shot of the Year in 2009 for his albatross at the BMW International Open.

In a glittering amateur career, he won the 1998 Junior World Championship.
