Played a starring role in one of the most memorable Open Championship head-to-heads in history when he finished second to Henrik Stenson at Royal Troon in 2016.

Had lifted his own Claret Jug three years earlier with a stunning final round of 66 at Muirfield for what was his fifth and most recent Major Championship.

Memorably claimed his third Masters victory in 2010 during his wife Amy’s battle with breast cancer, sparking emotional scenes on the 18th green when the winning putt dropped.

Claimed his tenth European Tour title when he defeated Justin Thomas in the 2018 WGC-Mexico Championship. Ended the year by beating Tiger Woods in The Match: Tiger vs Phil for a $9,000,000 winner's cheque.

Made history at the 2021 US PGA Championship, finishing two strokes ahead of Brooks Koepka and Louis Oosthuizen at Kiawah Island to become the oldest Major Champion in history at 50 years, 11 months and seven days.

The win was his 45th PGA TOUR title and sixth Major Championship, his first since winning The Open at Muirfield in 2013.

Has appeared in more Ryder Cups than any other American player in history with 12, and surpassed Nick Faldo's all-time record of 46 matches, when he moved to 47 at Le Golf National in The 42nd Ryder Cup.

Despite his famous ‘Lefty’ nickname, is actually right-handed in everything he does, and only swings a club left-handed because he started playing by mirroring his father’s right-handed swing.
