    Turned professional in 1985 and joined the European Challenge Tour in 1990.

    He finished third in the Rankings in 1992, securing a place on the European Tour the following season.

    Won the Extremadura Open in 1994, and went on to record a career best finish on the European Tour Order of Merit that season.

    Was the assistant professional to Eddie Birchenough at Royal Lytham & St. Annes GC where be first became an assistant in 1987.

    A non-executive board member of the European Tour, Eales regularly works as a broadcaster and golf analyst for various media companies.
