Used to doing things the hard way. Visited the Qualifying School four times before securing his card by winning the Challenge Tour in 1992, five years after becoming a PGA Qualified professional at Heswall Golf Club. Had to return to School the following season, but regained his playing privileges and held onto his card until 2000 where he finished 141st on the Order of Merit.
