Was something of a late developer, taking up golf at the age of 18 when his neighbour and good friend, Olle Karlsson, used to hit pitch shots outside their homes. But he wasn't 'hooked' until 1988 while his brother, Per, teaching pro at Rydö, helped. But he developed quickly, getting down to four handicap in his first year, then turning pro in 1990. Had no amateur record while only his brother plays the game and was his coach for many years. Is interested in all sports but devotes most of his time to his partner, Ann-Sophie, and his eight-year-old stepson, Joakim.
