Father, Peter, and three brothers are all single figure players. Started at age 10, encouraged by two-handicap dad, who was and remains his coach. Won Welsh Stroke Play in 1984 and 1988 and played Walker Cup in 1989. Won Cawder Challenge in 1991 and also a Futures Tour event at Evesham. Loves boxing and rugby, but doesn't compete at either because they are 'too tough' ! Has a 10-year sponsorship with Casey's Roofing Centre, owned by Alan Hughes who loaned out his villa at Marbella for the duration of last year's Q/S.
