Fitzpatrick turned professional in 2014 after a glittering amateur career in which he won the Boys Amateur Championship (2012), the U.S. Amateur Championship (2013), reached the rank of World Amateur Number One, won the SIlver Medal as low amateur at the 2013 Open Championship and represented GB&I in the Walker Cup in 2013.

He earned his DP World Tour card for 2015 through Qualifying School and registered his first victory in his rookie season at the British Masters supported by Sky Sports at Woburn.

Won twice in 2016 at the Nordea Masters and DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, triumphs which helped secure a debut Ryder Cup appearance later that year at Hazeltine National.

Claimed his fourth victory at 23 years and nine days with his win at the 2017 Omega European Masters, and followed that up by successfully defending his title at Crans-sur-Sierre in 2018 thanks to a play-off victory over Lucas Bjerregaard.

Won his first Rolex Series title in 2020 as he triumphed at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, Dubai for a second time and would finish a career-high second on the Race to Dubai Rankings Presented by Rolex.

Earned his seventh DP World Tour title at the iconic Real Club Valderrama, winning by three strokes at the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters, less than a month after his second Ryder Cup appearance at Whistling Straits.

Won his first Major Championship at the 2022 U.S. Open at The Country Club, Brookline, nine years after winning the U.S. Amateur Championship at the same venue, becoming just the second golfer next to Jack Nicklaus to win the U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur on the same golf course.

His second PGA TOUR title followed at the 2023 RBC Heritage, defeating Jordan Spieth in a play-off and also moving to a career-high eighth on the Official World Golf Rankings.

Made his third Ryder Cup appearance at Marco Simone in 2023, winning his first point on his sixth attempt as he partnered Rory McIlroy in the Friday four-balls. Fitzpatrick halved the first hole and then won the next five on his own as the pair went on to beat Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele 5&3.
