A former World Number One and 25-time winner on the European Tour, Westwood became the oldest winner of the Race to Dubai in its history in 2020, also becoming the sixth player to win the Harry Vardon Trophy on three or more occasions.

Remarkably consistent during the 2020 Race to Dubai, he made every cut in the 11 events he played in since the pandemic-affected season resumed at the Betfred British Masters at Close House, which he hosted for the second time. A second-place finish at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, Dubai saw him become European Tour Number One for the third time, 20 years after first achieving that milestone.

His first victory came in 1996 and the most recent at the 2020 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA - his second Rolex Series victory and 25th European Tour win. His triumph at Abu Dhabi Golf Club saw him become the first active golfer to win in four difference decades.

Won the Race to Dubai in its inaugural season in 2009 and reached World Number One in 2010, ending Tiger Woods’ five-year reign at the top and is second only to Sir Nick Faldo in the list of England’s most prolific winners worldwide.

He has finished runner-up three times in Major Championships and has made 11 appearances in The Ryder Cup for Europe, winning on seven occasions, and claiming 24 points in total. He was one of Thomas Bjørn's five vice-captains as part of the victorious European Ryder Cup team in 2018. Returned to play in the Ryder Cup in 2021, equalling Sir Nick Faldo's record of 11 appearances for Team Europe.

Was named the European Tour Golfer of the Year and Association of Golf Writers' (AGW) Golfer of the Year in 2020, winning both awards for the fourth time in his career.
