Pounded Pestana Golf Resort in the Algarve with some huge hitting en route to securing the fourth card in the 2004 European Seniors Tour Qualifying School. Booked his place on the 2005 Seniors Tour thanks to weekend rounds of 65 and 66 and will be an exciting player to watch. Grew up in Dallas and excelled in both golf and basketball. Taught to play golf by his father at the age of four and when he was 17 he competed in the Byron Nelson Tournament in 1971 on the US PGA Tour. Attended the University of New Mexico, where he was an All American in golf in his freshman year, and made the decision to turn professional at 21. After finishing in the top five at the US PGA Tour Qualifying School in 1980, he joined the Tour and finished second at the Magnolia Golf Classic in Mississippi. Professional golf has taken him to over 40 countries as he is a member of the Australasian, Asian, and South American Tours. He is active in various church groups, as well as the Salvation Army, with programmes that help feed the hungry. He also works with junior golf programmes throughout America. The father of seven also enjoys a game of poker.
