Show MoreHe first won a professional event as a 17-year-old amateur, winning the NZ PGA Championship in 2019.
In 2023, he recorded big amateur victories including the Australian Amateur, the prestigious Western Amateur, the Eisenhower Trophy, as well as the Elite Amateur Series. He also won Australian PGA Q-School – taking up his card once he turned professional.
Kobori won three times in four weeks on the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia to begin 2024, an unprecedented achievement which saw him win the Tour's Order of Merit and secure his DP World Tour card for 2024-25 with an event to spare.
