Had a successful amateur career where he won the South African Amateur Championship and the South African Amateur Str oke Play Championship before joining the paid ranks. Since turning professional in 2008 the Rainbow Nation player has recorded a number of top ten finishes on the European Tour, the highest a second place finish at the 2015 Tshwane Open where he landed a €172,500 pay cheque. Blaauw is attached to the Els Club in Copperleaf – a course designed by four-time Major winner Ernie Els. When he’s not competing he likes to play computer games.
