Made his Senior Tour debut in the Handa Australian Senior Open in November 2010 after a lengthy break from the competitive game, finishing a respectable tied 15th. Best known for his victory in The 1991 Open Championship, closing with rounds of 64 and 66 to finish two strokes clear of compatriot Mike Harwood. Was runner up in the Players Championship on the US PGA Tour the following year after breaking into the World’s Top Ten but suffered a loss of form and confidence and eventually retired from the game in 1997 aged 37. Grew up in the same Queensland neighbourhood as fellow professional golfers Greg Norman and Wayne Grady. Won on four major Tours, including the Scandinavian Open on The European Tour in 1985. After retiring from Tour life he became a renowned television commentator but decided to give the game another shot on the Senior Tour and Champions Tour.
