Burst onto the European Challenge Tour in 2004, winning in just his second event at the Al Ahram-Jolie Ville Sharm El Sheikh Challenge in Egypt. Another victory on the 2005 Challenge Tour, at the Galeria Kaufhof Pokal Challenge, proved that, when at his best, he can compete at the top level but he struggled to find consistency when he was not performing at his top level. May have recorded two victories in two years, but outside of those results, he never finished in the top ten in either 2004 or 2005. He managed to reverse that trend in some style on the 2006 Challenge Tour, recording four top three finishes and another eighth on his way to taking the 15th European Tour card through the Challenge Tour Rankings.
