Father is a doctor and brother a banker. Expected to follow the family trend in academia when he became a law student, but concentrated on golf. Started age 10 and scratch by 17. Won French Universities Championship and represented France as an amateur. An all-round sportsman who also excelled at tennis and soccer. Arrived on Tour via 1994 Qualifying School and has kept card until a disappointing 1999 season. However returned to the School for the first time in five years and reclaimed his playing privileges.
