Completed a remarkable recovery from a career-threatening injury when he won the ECCO Tour Championship presented by Thomas Björn and Mercedes Benz in 2011, four years after breaking both legs in a car crash shortly after competing in The 2007 Open Championship. Spent nearly two years on the sidelines and, after intensive rehabilitation, he eventually returned to competitive action on a medical exemption at the Allianz Open Côtes d’Armor Bretagne in May 2009, and has slowly worked his way back to full fitness ever since. Finished 39th in the final Challenge Tour Rankings in 2010, continued his progression by finishing joint runner-up at the dual ranking SAINT-OMER OPEN presented by Neuflize OBC before his win in Denmark, which helped him secure a European Tour card for 2012 with a sixth place finish in the Challenge Tour Rankings.
