Became the player with the lowest position on the Official World Golf Ranking to win a DP World Tour event, starting the week in South Africa 1,397th in the world, as he won by three strokes at Houghton Golf Club.

Went to Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee for four years before transferring to Florida State University, achieving a number of individual honours.
