    Completed his second year on the US PGA Tour in style at the end of 2003, by becoming the first player in history to record his first win in the season-ending Tour Championship. Fired a personal best, course and tournament record ten under par 61 in the third round to catapult him to the head of the field and a final round 68 was good enough for a three shot victory. Finished seventh on the Money List with $3,912.064 to his name, tripling what he earned in his rookie year of 2002. Produced an excellent debut in the 132nd Open Golf Championship at Royal St George’s, finishing tied for 15th, and followed that up by almost winning the US PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club, beaten only by Shaun Micheel’s wondrous seven iron approach to two inches on the 72nd hole. Won the Bay Hill Invitational in 2004 and qualified for his Ryder Cup debut at Oakland Hills CC, where he lost two matches but beat Luke Donald 5 and 3 in the singles.US PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club, beaten only by Shaun Micheel's wondrous seven iron approach to two inches on the 72nd hole. Qualified for the HSBC World Match Play Championship at Wentworth Club where he beat Fredrik Jacobson in the first round but lost to Ben Curtis in the quarter-finals. Led the Ball Striking category on the US PGA Tour in 2003 and finished fourth in Greens in Regulation and Total Driving. Qualified for the US PGA Tour after topping the rankings on the Nationwide Tour in 2001, thanks to three victories.
