Victory at the 2014 English Senior Open meant he became the fifth player to win an event on all three of The European, Challenge and Senior Tours.

Secured his maiden European Tour title when he charged through the field to win the 2006 Aa St Omer Open and secure a priceless European Tour exemption.

Had won the previous year on the Challenge Tour when he captured the Abierto Telefonica Moviles de Guatemala.

Revelled in his debut season on the 2014 Senior Tour, being crowned ‘Rookie of the Year’.

Became just the second South American to win the coveted award since it was launched in 1998, after Brazilian Priscillo Diniz in 2000.
