He represented Argentina in the 1986 Alfred Dunhill Cup and the 1987 World Cup but his finest moment came, not while representing his country, but in the 1987 San Paolo Open, when he defeated Eduardo Romero in a sudden-death play-off to claim the most significant title of his career. Turned 50 in September 2004.
