Won his first tournament in eight years, and his first on The European Tour, with a thrilling one-stroke victory at the 2009 Maybank Malaysian Open. A regular on the Asian Tour, where he registered his other two career victories at the 1999 Casino Filipino Philippine Open and the 2001 Myanmar Open. Golf became a passion when his father gave him and his younger brother David, also a professional golfer, clubs to wield when they were youngsters. “Dad decided golf was the only way to keep us out of trouble,” said the Korean-American. Also learned Taekwondo during his younger days, and says it taught him discipline. A speech communication graduate, he has lived since the age of ten in the United States, where he attended Oregon State University.
