Got his professional career off to a dream start with a wire-to-wire victory in his first event as a pro at the ALLIANZ EurOpen de Lyon in 2009, just six days after relinquishing his amateur status. The week after representing his native France in the European Amateur Team Championships in Wales, he shot a three under par final round of 68 to finish on 16 under par 268 at Golf du Gouverneur, one clear of playing partner Anders Schmidt Hansen. In so doing, became the seventh player to win on his professional Challenge Tour debut, an elite group which includes Edoardo Molinari, Martin Kaymer and Trevor Immelman. Finished 20th in the 2010 Challenge Tour Rankings, helped by coming third at the Rolex Trophy, to gain promotion to The European Tour, but bettered his category by finishing in the top 30 at the Qualifying School Final Stage. Did not retain his card but a solid showing on the 2012 Challenge Tour – the highlight of which was victory in the M2M Russian Challenge Cup – earned him ninth place in the Rankings and a return to The European Tour in 2013.
