Made a phenomenal start to his European Tour career by leading from the start in the 1999 Moroccan Open, only to miss out to Miguel Angel Martin at the sixth hole of a sudden-death play-off. The following week he was not to be denied, winning the European Grand Prix in only his second outing on The European Tour.
