A superb victory at the 2006 Challenge Tour’s Apulia San Domenico Grand Final ensured a dramatic return to The European Tour. Going into the last event of the 2006 Challenge Tour season, the Yorkshireman was 29th on the Challenge Tour Rankings and in need of a huge performance to break into the top 20 to guarantee a return to The European Tour, where he had played in 2004. He delivered in fine style, winning by two strokes to secure the €42,800 first prize and to leap into fifth place on the end of season Rankings. Had won on the Challenge Tour before, at the 2003 American Express Los Enicos Open in Mexico, but his victory at the 2006 Apulia San Domenico Grand Final was the biggest win of his career so far.
