Studied Economic Law at the University of Innsbruck before becoming the first Austrian winner of the European Amateur in 2011 – which earned him an invitation to the 2012 Open Championship. Made the cut in his first European Tour event and finished tied for 70th place at the 2011 Austrian Golf Open presented by Lyoness and was named the Austrian Golf Association’s “Golfer of the Year” later that year. Trappel, who is attached to Lech Zürs Arlberg, finished tied for second place at the Red Sea Egyptian Challenge Presented by Hassan Allam Properties on the 2016 Road to Oman.
