Claimed a breakthrough victory on the European Tour at the 2021 Scandinavian Mixed hosted by Henrik and Annika, carding a final round 64 to win the title by one stroke from Adrian Otaegui.

Started playing at age 11 after being introduced to the game by his father. Was a budding footballer before deciding to switch to golf. By the age of 16 he was playing off scratch, having spent several summers playing 36 holes a day at Clandeboye Golf Club in his native Northern Ireland. Attended the same University in South Alabama as his friend and compatriot Gareth Maybin, winning two tournaments on the US College circuit.

Represented GB&I at the 2007 Walker Cup alongside compatriot Rory McIlroy.

First came through Qualifying School in 2008, but had played just 47 events on the European Tour before his win in Sweden.
