Picked up golf almost by chance when a skiing accident at age 11 left him with a broken left leg. His garden backed on to a golf course, and while he was away from the pistes recovering he hit golf balls to keep himself amused. When his leg had healed, he moved on to playing the full course and was quickly hooked. Joined Torino Golf Club La Mandria aged 16, the same club as the Molinari brothers, and credits Edoardo in particular with helping his development in the last two years. Enjoyed an excellent record on the Alps Tour in 2010 before stepping up to the European Challenge Tour, finishing 85th in the 2011 Rankings and 41st in 2012. Still skis regularly and is a lover of “anything that flies”. Should have taken his pilot’s licence exam the weekend after the 2012 Qualifying School Final Stage, but had to reschedule it after taking the 14th card at PGA Catalunya Resort, which earned him a rookie season on the European Tour and therefore entry to the Nelson Mandela Championship presented by ISPS Handa the following week. His idol growing up was Nick Price because of the stylish finish to his swing. Best result came in 2015 when he won the EMC Challenge Open at Olgiata GC in Rome.
