One of Spain’s most accomplished golfers, Jiménez holds a number of records on the DP World Tour, on which he still plays well into his 50s.

Won his first of 21 titles in 1992 at the Piaget Belgium Open and became the oldest winner in DP World Tour history in 2013 when he won the Hong Kong Open – he then broke that record less than six months later as he won the 2014 Open de España at the age of 50 years and 133 days.

Became the DP World Tour’s all-time appearance maker as he made his 707th start at the 2020 Hero Open, overtaking Sam Torrance’s long-held record of 706. Jiménez also holds the Tour’s record for the most holes-in-one with ten.

Represented his country and continent on numerous occasions. Made four appearances for Europe at the Ryder Cup, helping his side to victory in 2004 and 2010. Represented Spain 14 times at the World Cup and ten times at the Alfred Dunhill Cup, winning in 1999 and 2000.

Carried his imperious form to over-50s golf, winning two Senior Major Championships within the space of three months in 2018 – the Regions Tradition in the United States followed by a memorable win on the Old Course at St Andrews in The Senior Open Presented by Rolex.

Has won 13 times on PGA TOUR Champions, the American over-50s circuit.

One of seven brothers, Jiménez took up golf as a 15-year-old whilst picking up balls at the range and caddying.

Inspired by watching the likes of Seve Ballesteros, Sandy Lyle and Torrance when he was caddying at the 1979 Spanish Open, he decided to take up the game seriously.

Worked in a garage before playing golf, earning him the nickname 'The Mechanic'.
