Best campaign was in 2003 when he finished sixth on the money list. His only Senior Tour victory came when he converted his undoubted talent into victory, carding a six under par 66 to come from two off the lead at the 2006 Irvine Whitlock Seniors Classic in Jersey. It was particularly rewarding as it came a week after a disappointing defeat in a play-off. The Chilean needed only to par the last hole to win the AIB Irish Seniors Open title but conspired to hit his ball into the water on the last and then lose out to Sam Torrance in extra holes. Put that behind him with a brilliant final round in Jersey and went on to finish the year 11th on the Order of Merit – his second highest placing since first gaining a card at the 2001 Qualifying School. During 2003 broke the European Senior Tour record for the longest hole in one when he holed his drive at the 354 yard par four 11th during the second round of the Tunisian Seniors Open at El Kantaoui.
