Danny List is hoping to continue his rise through the golfing ranks when he tees it up in the Delhi Challenge at Classic Golf & Country Club this week, in the second of back-to-back co-sanctioned events between the HotelPlanner Tour and the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI).
The Australian impressed in his sole HotelPlanner Tour start of the season to date, carding rounds of 70-65-62-67 to finish third in the MyGolfLife Open hosted by Pecanwood Estate at the start of February.
The 26-year-old, who earned DP World Tour playing privileges for the 2025 season at Qualifying School, currently sits 13th in the early Road to Mallorca Rankings, and is looking forward to the challenge of playing in India for the first time when play gets under way tomorrow.
“The course looks great, and it looks like a really interesting layout,” he said. “I’m only one event into the HotelPlanner Tour season and I had a good finish there, so I’m excited to see how the rest of the season goes.
“My game is in a good place. I picked up a bit of a neck injury in Johannesburg a couple of weeks ago, so practice has been a bit limited the last week or so, but it feels a bit better and I’m looking forward to it.
“I’ll be out playing my hardest and we’ll see where that puts me.”
List has enjoyed a busy six weeks, teeing it up in South Africa on both the HotelPlanner Tour and the DP World Tour, as well as travelling Stateside to make his debut on the PGA TOUR.
The Australian was the recipient of the Charlie Sifford Memorial Exemption into the 2025 edition of The Genesis Invitational, which was decided by tournament host and 15-time Major winner Tiger Woods.
List says the experiences he’s had over the last couple of months have given him a glimpse into the future and what he wants to achieve in the game.
“I’m definitely learning and trying to get my footing on the DP World Tour when I’ve had starts there,” he added. “It’s been an unreal experience being able to play all these incredible courses.
“Getting my routines down has been the main focus but slowly feel like we’re making some good progress there.
“It was also incredible being able to play on the PGA TOUR, in a signature event with all of the biggest names in golf.
“Especially being invited by Tiger to come out and play, being able to sit down to him and chat with him at lunch was almost incredible. I’m really appreciative that he chose me to play in the field that week. I learned a ton.”
The opening round of the Delhi Challenge gets under way tomorrow at 6:50am local time, with List teeing off alongside Englishman Joshua Berry and Om Prakash Chouhan from India at 12:35pm.
