Hartø strides clear in Czech Republic

Andreas Hartø was striding towards a third European Challenge Tour victory and the Rankings Number One spot as the Dane moved two shots clear of the field on 19 under par midway through the final day of the D+D Real Czech Challenge Open.

Hartø was the leader entering the final day at Kunetická Hora Golf Club but looked to have stumbled as a bogey at the par five second hole made for a shaky start.

But the 24 year old composed himself and looked a picture of composure as he opened up the gap at the top to two with birdies at the sixth, seventh and ninth holes, whistling and singing to himself in between shots.

His compatriot Joachim B Hansen, playing in the penultimate group, was two shots back on 17 under par after birdies at the third, fourth, sixth and tenth holes moved him right into contention.

Garry Houston was also applying some pressure on his playing partner Hartø as the Welshman picked up shots at the second, fourth and seventh holes to move to within three shots of the lead.

Steven Tiley, meanwhile, opened with a bogey and bounced back immediately with a birdie at the second but was struggling to gain momentum as he reached the turn level thanks to seven consecutive pars.
