Jacob Skov Olesen closed in on Global Amateur Pathway Ranking leader Wenyi Ding after an impressive DP World Tour debut at the Danish Golf Championship. See the updated Ranking here.
The Amateur Champion finished in a tie for fifth place at Lübker Golf Resort to further add to his burgeoning reputation, and while Ding remains in position to gain a DP World Tour card for the 2025 season, Olesen is now just over 100 points behind with seven weeks remaining until the conclusion of the Global Amateur Pathway Ranking Period.
The Dane, Luis Masaveu Roncal of Spain and Frenchman Bastien Amat remain in line to secure the three Challenge Tour cards available to European and Middle Eastern players for next season.
Nathan Petronzio, Ben Warian and Jake Hall of the United States remain in contention for PGA TOUR Americas eligibility, with South African Tyran Snyders and Japan’s Rintaro Nakano set for Sunshine Tour and Japan Golf Tour cards respectively.
The Global Amateur Pathway – powered by the World Amateur Golf Ranking® (WAGR®) - creates a pathway for non-collegiate amateur players on to the DP World Tour and partner Tours around the world. The Global Amateur Pathway complements PGA TOUR University – which awards membership on PGA TOUR-sanctioned Tours to the top Division-I college golfers at the end of the NCAA Championship – to ensure opportunities are available for elite players across the amateur ranks.
The first Global Amateur Pathway Ranking Period will conclude on 13 October 2024, with an updated Ranking published by Friday each week.
